About
Tom Dunn believes that successful local government is built on heart, integrity, common sense and collaboration. And his heart is firmly planted in Columbia County. Tom’s parents’ families both have deep roots in Columbia County dating back to the 1850s, with the Dunn family being some of the earliest settlers of Portage. He spent many childhood summers both in Portage with his grandmother and at his aunt and uncle’s dairy farm in Caledonia. “The Columbia County Fair was the highlight of my summer, sharing adventures, fun and 4H with my cousins and brothers,” Tom says.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Tom’s professional career has been spent in communications in the financial services industry, including credit unions, brokerage and wealth management services, property and casualty insurance, and most recently end-of-life expense insurance. And whether working to help pass vital legislation for the credit union industry, or helping people make important decisions for their funeral planning, Tom understands how to work with the spectrum of experts and interested parties to clearly define issues, develop solution plans and then execute with transparency and clarity. His expertise lies in breaking down the complex and communicating it simply and directly to the people who need most to understand issues and their implications.
Tom is a resident of the Town of Lodi. He is the father of two grown children and dedicated partner to Jane.
